Enhanced control panel offers more protection for Cummins high-horsepower generator sets
5 April 2016
Cummins Power Generation has introduced a new-and-improved control panel into Cummins QSK60 and QSK78 engine platforms.
The PowerCommand® 3.3 is an integrated microprocessor-based generator set control system that gives users greater supervision, control and protection of critical parts of the generator sets, including voltage regulation, engine protection alternator protection and isochronous governing.
Beyond the exceptional performance enhancements of the PowerCommand 3.3 control, the control panel design offers improved serviceability access and connectivity enhancements that allow for simpler installation and maintenance. It has also been designed with added space to allow for easy upgrades and expansions.
Customers can choose between the PowerCommand 3.3 or the PowerCommand 3.3 with Masterless Load Demand along with a number of installation options. MLD allows the controller to smartly manage power from paralleled generators and match varying load patterns, offering additional flexibility and fuel savings.
